Lateral Move

A lateral move, as the name implies, is a step taken by an employee to move to a new position at the same career level in the same or a different organization. As opposed to a career transition, the individual may have different employment duties. After making a Lateral move, a person performs different duties and develops new abilities. This modification retains the employee at the same level but alters the job responsibilities. Therefore, the remuneration remains the same. It is an act to broaden job options for a bright and vibrant future.
