Retaliation

Workplace retaliation is described as any adverse action done by an employer against employees who have made a formal complaint about workplace harassment, immoral behavior, or discrimination. Workplace retaliation can be categorized into two types: overt and subtle. In Overt Retaliation, individuals openly misuse their power without concealing their acts. Subtle retaliation is a less direct form of retaliation that can be difficult to identify.

Retaliation in the workplace is a serious matter, and it’s crucial for organizations to foster a culture that discourages such behaviors. Additionally, training programs that address unconscious biases and emphasize the importance of respectful communication can contribute to a workplace culture that values integrity and fairness. Employers should take proactive measures to prevent retaliation and respond promptly and appropriately to any reported cases.
