Voluntary Benefits

Voluntary benefits are additional employee benefits that are offered by employers but are paid for, at least in part, by the employees themselves. While the employer facilitates the administration of these benefits, the financial responsibility often falls on the employees, who may contribute through payroll deductions. Unlike traditional employer-sponsored benefits like health insurance or retirement plans, employees fund voluntary benefits. This means employees who participate in these programs may see deductions from their paychecks to cover the associated costs.

Voluntary benefits are not mandatory, and employees have the option to enroll in these programs based on their personal needs and circumstances. Voluntary benefits can encompass a wide range of offerings beyond the core benefits provided by employers. Employees have the flexibility to choose the voluntary benefits that align with their specific needs.
